The lovely Edgar Wright asked if I’d like to show COST OF LIVING before SCOTT PILGRIM this Friday at New Beverly in Los Angeles. New Beverly is my favorite theater. SCOTT PILGRIM is one of my favorite movies. I said yes. (COST OF LIVING features two stars from SCOTT PILGRIM: Brandon Routh and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.)
Brandon Routh and I will be introducing the short and film. (There may be someone else involved with SCOTT PILGRIM.)
Should be fun.
(If anyone has any serious questions for Bryan Lee O’Malley during our introduction I will text him and I’m sure he will have some very curt responses.)
We are now officially a Vimeo Staff Pick. Yeeeeeeeeeeah. Feel free to reblog that shit. Or just continue to ignore my self-promotion.
This time from io9.com.
On my next project there will be an actual person or persons responsible for getting the word out and all this stuff because that’s their job…
…but for COL it’s just me so here’s the thousandth tumblr thing about it.
COST OF LIVING
Valentine’s Day 2012
Here’s a little teaser thing. Footage shot and edited by my pal @rileystearns. The short will have it’s online debut/premiere on February 14. It’ll be free. And HD. Yay.
“Without a doubt one of my very favorite moments of Fantastic Fest 2011 was the premiere screening of BenDavid Grabinski’s action-horror-comedy hybrid short film Cost Of Living.”
-Todd Brown, Twitch Film
COST OF LIVING was one of the “7 biggest surprises of 2011” over at Bloody Disgusting. Or something. Hooray!
Brandon Routh stars in a very droll action sci-fi short that brought the house down in Austin. Two security dudes at a monster manufacturing plant schlep through a clean-up, wondering if maybe they should put in for a transfer. Very entertaining, well shot and exciting.
